| Inland Northwest Skyfest 2008, Fairchild Air Force Base's free air show and open house, will be held on the base Aug. 9-10. The Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps premier aerial demonstration team, are scheduled to be the main act. Other demonstration teams will include the F-22 Raptor, F-15C Eagle, C-17 Globemaster III, and the KC-135 Stratotanker. The open house will also feature static displays of many contemporary and vintage aircraft. Gates will open Aug. 9 and 10 at 9 a.m., with the air show scheduled from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. |

| Join Marian Frobe for a walk around Pine Lakes looking for summer birds and seeing which young birds have survived the cold wet spring. We had such a good time on the May 31st Bird Walk, I thought we might try one in August. Most birds are not as vocal this time of year, so birding by ear is not as helpful as it is in spring, but we should still see and hear wonderful birds in mid-August Call or e-mail to reserve your place and for information. |
